How to configure Internet Explorer (version 7 and above) to view Java and JavaScript?

Internet Explorer is java-enabled by default, when java runtime environment is installed on the system. Please follow the steps below to enable Javascript in Internet Explorer:

  1. On Internet Explorer browser's "Tools" menu click on the "Internet Options" menuitem.
  2. Click the "Security" tab.
  3. Click "Custom Level..." button
  4. Scroll down to "Scripting" section of the list and select "Enable" for "Active Scripting"
  5. Click "OK" button.
  6. Close the browser.
  7. Open up a new Internet Explorer browser. This browser is now able to view JavaScript and Java Applets.



How to configure Mozilla Firefox to view Java and JavaScript?

  1. On Mozilla Firefox browser's "Tools" menu, click on "Options".
  2. Click the "Content" Icon.
  3. Click the "Enable Java" checkbox to enable Java.
  4. Click the "Enable JavaScript" checkbox to enable JavaScript.
  5. Click the "OK" button to save the changes in Option dialog's lower right corner.
  6. Close the browser.
  7. Open up a new Mozilla Firefox browser. This browser is now able to view JavaScript and Java Applets.


How to configure Google Chrome to view Java and JavaScript?

Google Chrome has Javascript enabled by default. Google Chrome also has Java enabled by default, provided some version of JAVA was installed on your system before Google Chrome is installed. Please follow the instructions below, if that is not the case.

  1. Close all instances of Google Chrome.
  2. Right-click on the Google Chrome shortcut on your Desktop.
  3. Click "Properties" on the dropdown menu.
  4. Click on the "Shortcut" tab.
  5. In the "Target" textbox append "-enable-java" and "-enable-javascript" at the end, with space in-between as shown in the figure below.
  6. Now everytime when Google Chrome is started from the Desktop shortcut, it will be both Java and Javascript enabled.
  7. Note: If you want Google Chrome to have Java and Javascript enabled no matter how it is launched, you may have to uninstall Chrome, install the latest version of Java, and reinstall Chrome for it to recognize Java and enable it by default.


How to configure Apple Safari to view Java and JavaScript?

  1. On Apple Safari browser, type "Ctrl+," (control key and comma key together) to launch the "Preferences" dialog box shown in the figure below.
  2. Click the "Security" Icon.
  3. Click the "Enable Java" checkbox to enable Java.
  4. Click the "Enable JavaScript" checkbox to enable JavaScript.
  5. Close the dialog box.
  6. Close the browser.
  7. Open up a new Apple Safari browser. This browser is now able to view JavaScript and Java Applets.
